Foster Families - foster families care for the dogs daily needs (food, water, training) prior to the greyhound being in a home. We have found this adjustment period to be extremely helpful in increasing the “adoptability” of the dog.  Medical costs are still covered by REGAP.   Please contact Cher Oliver at 816-763-3333.

REGAP is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization. 100% of all donations go directly to the rescue, rehabilitation and adoption of retired racing greyhounds.

Our expenses average $30,000 per year.  These expenses include primarily medical costs (basic and special needs such as broken legs, etc.) and kenneling.  The adoption fees cover about a third of our costs.  The Bowl-A-Thon and Rummage Sale contributed another third.  The remaining costs are covered by contributions from people like you.

A.  Monetary donations -  Please mail your check to REGAP; 7400 East 102nd Street; Kansas City,  MO. Please don’t forget to check with your company to see if they have a matching gift program.  (The local companies, who currently have a matching program, include Hallmark and Sprint! )

B.  Advertisements in the Sun Newspaper - When available, we pay $50/month to picture one of our adoptable dogs in the Friday edition of the Sun Newspaper.  The sponsor is identified along with their logo and phone number.  Consider this advertising opportunity for your business!

C.  Wish  List - we hope at some time to establish a kennel for the REGAP dogs.  This will involve securing a piece of property (zoned for this activity) or an established kennel.  We may need the following skills - grading and foundation work along with the basic construction skills, including electrical, carpentry, painters, plumbing, fencing, etc.  If you would be willing to donate your time or supplies, please contact Cher Oliver at 816-763-3333.  While this is not an immediate project, we are projecting this out for sometime in the next 1 - 3 years.
